An FBI Criminal Record History Report is the result of a fingerprint-based criminal records check conducted through the FBI’s automated fingerprint information system. This report contains what is often referred to as a “rap sheet” or a listing of information retained by the FBI in connection to arrest information, such as agency name, date of arrest, the arrest charge, and the disposition of the arrest, if known by the FBI.
11. What happens if my fingerprints are rejected or considered “illegible” by the FBI?
While Livescan fingerprint collection process is very good at recording all of the details of most individuals' fingerprints, there are always cases where an individual fingerprint file cannot be “read” by the FBI’s automated fingerprint information system. Your criminal history results are available online for 30 days from the time Fieldprint receives the results from the FBI. If you do not access your results in this 30 day period, Fieldprint is required to purge them from our system. Once you access your results, you will have the option to save them for 7 days, during which you will be able to view them again as needed. After this 7 day period, the results will be removed from our system. If you choose not to save your results for the 7 day period, they will be removed immediately after you access them. In all cases, once your results have been removed from our system, they cannot be accessed. To obtain a new copy, you will need to complete the process again.
16. Can I save or print my results once I receive them online?

17. How do I challenge my FBI record?
The FBI CJIS Division is not the source of the data appearing on identification records. All data is obtained from fingerprint submissions or related identification forms submitted to the FBI by local, state and federal agencies. As a result, the responsibility for authentication and correction of such data rests upon the contributing agency (i.e., police department, county court, etc.). Once you have reviewed the results of your fingerprint-based background check, and you believe it contains inaccurate or incomplete information, you may request a correction by contacting the agency or agencies that submitted the information to the FBI, or you may send a written request to the FBI CJIS Division. The CJIS Division does not have the authority to modify any criminal history record information unless specifically notified to do so by the owner of the information. Missing or Incorrect State (Non-Federal) Information Most states require that change requests be processed through their respective state central repository for criminal history records before submission to the FBI. Several states, however, maintain their own records system, which the FBI accesses for authorized purposes, and record updates are made at the state level only. You may contact respective state repositories for assistance and, if applicable, request that they provide the FBI with updates to your arrest record data. More information can be found at the FBI’s website. Missing or Incorrect Federal Information For federal arrest updates, the FBI must receive a request directly from the original arresting agency, from a court with jurisdiction over the arrest data, or from other agency of competent jurisdiction. Challenges Submitted to the FBI You may submit a written records challenge request to the FBI's CJIS Division at the following address: FBI CJIS Division Attention: Correspondence Group 1000 Custer Hollow Road Clarksburg, WV 26306 Your written request should clearly identify the information that you believe to be inaccurate or incomplete. Please be sure to include copies of any available proof or supporting documentation to substantiate your claim. For example, if your disposition information is incorrect or missing, you may submit documentation obtained from the court having jurisdiction over the arrest or the office prosecuting the offense. The Correspondence Group will contact appropriate agencies in an attempt to verify or correct challenged entries for you. Upon receipt of an official communication from the agency with jurisdiction over the data, the FBI will make appropriate changes and notify you of the outcome. Record challenges submitted to the FBI are processed in the order in which they are received.
18. I have been fingerprinted several times in the past. Are you able to use those prints?
No. Any fingerprints that were collected in the past are not retrievable or transferable from other state or federal agencies.
19. What if I fail to show up for my appointment, or cancel in less than 24 hours?
If you do not show up for your appointment, or cancel your appointment within less than 24 hours of your scheduled date and time, you will be charged a rescheduling fee of $10.00. *Please note that we offer a 2-hour grace period for late arrivals.
